General Themed Cartoons
Gathered here are the retro cartoon shows with a general theme that I can remember watching in my youth. These cartoons either don't fit into any of the other themes on the site or they fit into all of them such as Looney Tunes and their 75 year history.
For the most part, the simplicity and innocence of the stories are what gives these toons the charm to stick with me even throughout my adult life. That's why I made this site, as a historical reference for my children, so they can research the things that used to make me smile. Cartoon World is a Shrine to the cartoon shows from your childhood.

Looney Tunes
1936-Present
Ok, this one will need a bit more explanation than the rest as the Looney Tunes incorporate almost 75 years of characters and story lines. I may build a separate page dedicated solely to the Looney Tunes just to do them justice.
I will try to name just a few (too many to name them all) of the band of characters found in the Looney Tunes cartoons in one breath. Here goes nothing... Bugs Bunny (the de facto leader of the group), Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Petunia Pig, Sylvester, Tweety Bird, Yosemite Sam, Marvin Martian, Speedy Gonzales, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Slow Poke Rodriguez, PePe' Le Pew, Penelope, Beaky Buzzard, Henry Hawk, Gossamer, Pete Puma, Tasmanian Devil, Witch Hazel... Pluh... I can't do It, there's more but I have to breathe!
These cartoons are the holy grail of all that is cartoony and good in the universe (So what if i made up the word cartoony?). I cannot remember a single time in my childhood, young adult life, not so young adult life, or ever that I haven't watched the wacky Looney Tunes and the entertaining messes they get themselves into. I DARE anyone to say they have not watched and enjoyed them at some time in their lives.

Some of these cartoons shows have withstood the test of time and are still in syndication decades later. As I am pulling these cartoons programs from the recesses of my memory, there may be some things I don't remember quite right.
